Night of all Nights

Christmas Eve began with a quick trip up to Morgan to exchange gifts. We were glad to be able to spend a little bit of time with the Brooks Fam! We played a couple of games, saw grandma and grandpa and exchanged gifts with the siblings. We traded gifts with Alan and Teresa and I have to say they totally one-upped us! They gave us tickets to WICKED! Yeah, they're pretty great! Thanks again Alan and Teresa! We're excited for a wicked good time!

After we went down to my parents for an amazing steak dinner, we started in on the fun. We started with making gingerbread houses! We sort of turned it into a competition and were separated into teams. My parents and my grandma were one team and they made this tiny cottage with a little snowman out front (so cute); Derek, Nate and Vanessa (Nates girlfriend) made some futuristic lodge (which Derek ended up smashing); and ours (Bart, Me, Nick, Payton & Levi) was a direct replica of Santa's workshop. We had such a good time and we laughed and laughed. Nothing like a little bit of competition to fuel some fun!

Now, please don't be offended by our somewhat unorthodox Nativity Reinactment. It seem as though it becomes more and more chaotic as the years go by. This year, we even had Samuel the Lamanite come bursting down the stairs in a very interesting get-up (see Derek). We did have two very cute angel-sheep courtesy of Payton and Levi and we were so excited to see that Vanessa (Nate's cute girlfriend) didn't just run out of the house! She actually participated as Mary! Nate was Joseph and Nick was...I don't even remember. My dad read from the Bible and Bart and I were the minstrels or something and my mom and grandma just heckeled from the sidelines. Luckily we did watch Luke II so we were able to catch the spirit of the season. It sure didn't come from our acting skills!
