Dear Family and Friends,
A Blessed Christmas to you and to all of your kin,
We are hoping this note finds you happy!
You’ve got presents to wrap and cookies to bake,
So don’t worry, I’ll keep this poem snappy! (right!)
It’s hard to believe that December is here
We’re still sporting shorts and short sleeves
You won’t find us sledding or shoveling the walk
Here in Texas it’s been 80 degrees!
We’re enjoying our time in the big Lone Star State
And we’re “fixin” to see and do all
We’ve relaxed on the beach, eaten “gator-on-a-stick”
Been to NASA and seen Astros play ball.
Our boys are all growing...each day they’re more fun-
We’ve learned fun comes with a whole lot of BUSY!
With the kids and the house and the dinner to plan
At the end of the day we are dizzy!
Hyrum, now one, has just taken up walking,
Can’t believe that just twelve months ago,
He was playing the part of the Baby Jesus
Now all this big guy wants is to GO!
He is surely the one that we keep our eye on
When he’s missing we know where he’ll be
Either shoveling books off the bookshelf with grins
Or hauling out miles of TP!
Levi is three and he keeps us all rolling
He’s our resident stand-up comedian
He is really quite social and loves to have friends
But his favorite is big brother, Payton.
He’s attending a “Joyschool” with neighborhood moms
At his school he’s surrounded by girls
He doesn’t mind, in fact, thinks it is grand
He’s been nicknamed the “Prince of Preschool”
Payton is five and had a year of some firsts
He is growing up right as I speak.
First season of soccer, and swimming and school
And his training wheels? They’re history!
We all miss our Payt when he’s gone for the day,
He’s at Kindergarten from 8 until 4
Despite a long day, he rarely complains
He’s still happy when he walks out the bus door.
Bart is, as ever, our champion dad.
He works hard when at work or at home
He’s also involved with the scouts in our ward
He’s in training for when ours are grown
Brooke’s gaining titles as the children get busy
She’s a referee, room-mom, road-runner
Her job is to keep everyone’s schedule in line
But she’s still looking for the perfect life planner!
This year has been full of some moments of growth
We’ve are thankful to have one another
We are missing our families and those that we love
But new friends we have come to discover.
Most important, we think of our Dear Savior’s birth
Which allows us to be Families Forever.
We are grateful for Him and the gift he has given
Let’s remember Him through every endeavor.
